Biological safety cabinets were added to two buildings: The Cross Cancer Institute and the Walter C. MacKenzie building.
Supply air was adjusted within the spaces for increased airflow; new exhaust fans were selected for the rejected air stream, including new Strobic fans for the Cross Cancer Institute. Sensitive balancing, directional airflow, and general VAV upgrades followed as a result. Biological safety cabinet system design has many of the same rigors as fume hood design, except that the BSCs protect the product in addition to the users of the device.
